The Stihl FS 55 R brush cutter is a low weight compact brushcutter, with loop handle for difficult terrain and confined conditions. Functional modern design with excellent balance. Comes standard with AutoCut line head. The Stihl FS 55 R brushcutter also features electronic ignition for trouble free starting and all housed to protect against dirt and damp. The manual fuel pump helps reduce the amount of times you need to try to get it to start.

Features

Electronic ignition module

This ensures reliable starting and trouble-free running. The ignition system is fully encapsulated and thus proof against damp and dirt.

Manual fuel pump (Purger)

A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting strokes required following extended breaks in operations.

Loop handle (R)

The loop handled grass trimmers and brushcutters are ideal for working in areas where space is limited, e.g. thinning between bushes and shrubs.

Multi-function control handle

Easy, comfortable thumb-operated control means the operator’s hand never leaves the handle.

    Just bought a FS55R,excellent brushcutter,powerful,usual high quailty you expect from Stihl.
    Using it with the HP Super 2 stroke oil,green in colour,much cleaner burning than the usual Sthil red 2 stroke oil.
    Replaced standard bump head with a Duro Cut 20-2. & used with a reel of Oregon Flexiblade 2.65mm line,which I cut to require length,very effective with nettles.
    Ordered Saturday evening,dispatched Monday,arrived Tuesday morning,can’t fault the service,delivery & driver were excellent.
    Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Radmore & Tucker.

    Strimmer works fine and the brush cutter hacks its way through light brambles and nettles.
    Delivery was execelent. Under 24 hours from order to doorstep delivery, by their own van, but I do live fairly locally. Even came with a tank of fuel.

    This is my second strimmer, I have a heavier duty brushcutter for brambles and the like and I’m using the Stihl FS55R as just a strimmer for cutting grass around edgings. It shipped with a Stihl Autocut c26-2 head which seems a great improvement on traditional heads. Still using the cord it shipped with but hopefully, I will be able to load new cord without the usual hassle of bits flying everywhere.

    The third time I have bought from Radmore & Tucker and again they were very good. Ordered at 9 in the evening and delivered to Bristol before 9 am the next day.

    Bought recently to deal with a very overgrown verge. Although easy to put together and start the machine struggled with the very heavy grass and had to be spun up between each attack at the long grass. It may have worked better with the optional brush cutter blades rather than strimming line but this was just heavy grass not brambles and shrubs. It did fell down on power for that sort of job.
    The line also broke too short to feed at one point necessitating the fiddly job of re threading.

    Worked fine as a standard strimmer in the rest of the garden and the machine itself is light and easy to use. The supplied harness is just a strap and for long periods of use the improved optional harness worked probably be better.

Had a slight problem when setting up (my error should have read the instructions) this was dealt with extremely promptly and worked well.     Ordered the FS 55R on a Saturday afternoon after closing time and the strimmer was delivered at 8am Tuesday. It was ready to go with a full tank of fuel aswell. I use Aspen 2 fuel and have used it most days since delivery with no issues at all. Strimmer and Radmore & Tucker have been faultless.
