Highlift blade
The highlift blade gives a precise finish to the lawn and ensures optimal filling of the grass catcher box. The blade creates a strong air current in the housing, which makes the grass stand upright before cutting and efficiently carries the clippings into the catcher box using an integrated and powerful air flow system.
Fold-open grass catcher box with level indicator
The plastic grass catcher box can be easily opened and emptied thanks to its folding mechanism. The current of air produced during mowing blows the clippings into the grass catcher box and ensures a high degree of filling. Thanks to the downward-facing vanes, the air is guided sideways towards the ground, preventing dirt from being thrown up. The level indicator signals the correct time for emptying.
Smooth running wheels
The smooth running wheels of the STIHL lawn mowers are extremely robust and hard-wearing. They have been equipped with a traction pattern and directional stability tread pattern for effortless manoeuvring and to help hold perfect line during mowing.
Integrated cable strain relief

Easy to follow instructions to assemble it (it did arrive with an Allen key), light weight and nicely made. Has a black mains lead, I am used to orange leads, so take care not to chop it in half.

Had to phone through my order as the online credit card payment system did not work. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly Terri Fenwick who served me; the problem was actually with my credit card. My order arrived early the next day, robustly boxed with all parts enclosed.
This Stihl RME 235 mower had replaced an old Bosch Rotak 34 which had done good service but I did not like the new models. I found the Stihl mower extremely well made and think it should last a good few years; an important point to me. It is a little on the heavy side but not a huge issue. Mowing ability was very good and zipped through my lawn in no time; grass box held a good quantity of grass and the level indicator informed when the box needed to be emptied. Lifting the discharge flap made emptying the grass box very easy. While operating the mower was straight forward, I found the motor stop leaver tended to cut into my fingers a little after extended use.
All-in-all this is a very good mower for smaller lawns and this company, Radmore & Tucker, is very good to do business with.

We have two small lawns (100m2 max each) and the mower cuts well enough, it’s light and manoeuvrable. The grass box is light and easy to empty.
What could be done to improve it? The cable is black and only 10m so I guess most users will need an extension cable. which is frustrating. Why couldn’t Stihl make it at least 15m and colour orange? Also I find the handle bar thin and uncomfortable, it could do with being thicker or with a nice sleeve.
Radmore and Tucker are excellent and being Stihl I expect it to last. (I bought a Wolfe electric mower from R&T over 30yrs ago and it was still doing a job – and never serviced – but became too heavy)

I would have liked a 15 meter orange cable rather than a 10 meter black one. Also the ability to disconnect the cable from a socket on the mower would be a big plus. The mower did a fantastic job of dealing with very long grass though I had to empty the box about 6 times during the mowing of a 60′ x 20′ lawn. Overall very pleased.
