The STIHL FSA 80 is a battery-powered brushcutter designed for tackling the toughest mowing, cutting and clearing jobs you may face in your home garden. The FSA 80 is battery powered and as such has low noise emissions – so you don’t have to worry about disturbing any neighbours either!
Fitted with a bike handle for comfortable working when cutting tall grass and weeds. The folding clamp makes it quick and easy to adjust the bike handle to the ergonomic position that suits you. The FSA 80 has a powerful brushless EC motor and speed-adjustment on the control handle, which can be set at 2 different speed settings. There is an ECO mode (level 1), for simple tasks such as trimming lawn edges, which results in lower energy consumption for extended battery life. And there is full speed mode (level 2), for mowing thicker grass, which will use more of the battery energy.
The FSA 80 is supplied with a basic harness and the GrassCut 230-2 blade as standard, but can also be fitted with other STIHL cutting tools, such as the AutoCut, TrimCut, DuroCut, PolyCut cutting tools.

Absolutely brilliant for me. Petrol strimmers never seemed to like long lay offs but I think this will be fine. So easy to use compared with starting a petrol engine. I already had 2 x AK30 batteries with the chainsaws.

Excellent piece of kit! Well balanced and comfortable to use with the “bike handles”. The recommended battery for the FSA80 is the AK30 but I already have two AK20 batteries which are compatible so I tried them – they worked fine. The brush I was clearing today only needed the lower power mode and each battery lasted the best part of an hour. A bonus of the battery powered unit over a petrol model is that I could use them on Sunday without annoying the neighbours.
