The FSA 60 R is a lightweight but powerful cordless grass trimmer in the STIHL AK System of battery tools. It makes it easy to trim lawn edges, or around trees and other obstacles in no time using an AutoCut C 6-2 mowing head with nylon line, although the mowing head can be changed easily without tools too.
It has an aluminium shaft, an easy-to-use operating handle and a loop handle on the shaft which can be moved up or down the shaft to make controlling the grass trimmer a breeze. It also comes with a metal spacer bracket, which can be folded down to help avoid damage to trees or obstacles.
The FSA 60 R is part of the AK System of tools, which includes grass trimmers, hedge trimmer, chainsaws and lawnmowers and uses interchangeable batteries that can be swapped between tools in the range.
Run Times
- Run time on AK 20 battery: Up to 25 minutes with nylon mowing head
- Run time on AK 30 battery: Up to 32 minutes with nylon mowing head
STIHL EC-motor
The STIHL brushless electric motor (EC) is very energy efficient and practically maintenance-free. Thanks to its outstanding efficiency, the battery power is directly translated into impressive performance. During operation, the electronically controlled EC motor permanently monitors the load and adjusts the engine accordingly.
Smart Connector
The device is compatible with the Smart Connector 1.0 and can be easily integrated into STIHL connected.
Spacer bracket
The spacer bracket protects your mowing head from damage. It can also protect plants from being damaged by the mowing head during use.
Interchangeable cutting tools
The cutting tools can be changed easily by hand without the need for tools. You can fit either the AutoCut C 6-2, PolyCut 6-2 or DuroCut 5-2 to the FSA 60 R.
Loop handle
The comfortable all-round handle ensures great freedom of movement and easy handling, even in more confined spaces.
Speed regulation
The speed of the mowing head can be regulated continuously during use at three different speed levels.
Ergonomic control handle
The FSA 60 R has a locking lever (orange front), ERGO lever (black) and main trigger lever (orange below). The locking lever is self-resetting and prevents unintentional switching on of the device. When the ERGO lever and shift lever are pressed, you can work continuously with ease.

Stihl FSA 60 R Cordless Grass Strimmer”
Very happy with this machine. Updated features include a wire guard for protection/more precise cutting and a movable handle for optimum balance. It seems more more powerful than the last model. The batteries for this one are smaller and more efficient. Good price from Radmore + Tucker and very good customer service.

Very happy.
Website said dispatch in 3-10 days but I had it in two days.
Simple to assemble if you look carefully at the pictures in the instruction leaflet.
Only used once so far, eerily quiet after my petrol strimmer and lighter but manages long grass well and also has the power to deal with tough weeds such as nettles.
Took about three hours to charge first time but after about 20 minutes strimming seems to have charged back to full in about an hour.
Overall, very happy with my switch to battery power.
Could give 5 stars but that would leave no room for continued product development.
