The RMA 448 RV from STIHL is a battery-powered self-propelled lawn mower with a rear roller designed for users looking to cut medium-sized to large lawns at home. The rear roller of the RMA 448 RV is made from durable polymer material to help you achieve the perfect stripe in your garden. The lawn mower is built with a rugged polymer deck that is lightweight, rust proof and double layered for additional stability. It’s UV resistant, has a 46 cm cutting width and single point height adjustment that is adjustable between 20 – 100 mm. The RMA 448 RV is part of the AK System range of tools and is powered by an AK 30 S battery that is interchangeable with other machines across the range. There are two slots in the powerhead for two AK batteries, so when the first runs out of power you can quickly switch to the second. On a full charge with the recommended AK 30 S battery you will be able to mow lawns up to 340 m2.
The RMA 448 RV has different ways of mowing. No additional tools are required but we do recommend you refer to the owner’s manual before working. You can either:
- Cut & collect with the grass catcher box fitted
- Mulch by switching it to mulch mode
The comfort mono-handlebar allows easy access to the grass catcher box, making it easier to remove and empty when it’s full – plus, thanks to the fill level indicator on the grass catcher box you’ll know exactly when to empty the box too! The 52-litre grass catcher box is ergonomically designed and easy to fully open for fast emptying. The sturdy mono-handlebar is height adjustable and foldable for compact storage after use.

This is my second Stihl battery lawnmower, and I’ve purchased this one because of the added features of a rear roller, mulching facility and speed control. At the time of purchase (late autumn), I won’t be using it now until next spring. However, my initial impression is one of really good quality coupled with a good discount from Radmore and Tucker. I recommend both the product and Radmore and Tucker.

Please make it clear the mower as published has NO BATTERY included, not even 1 (it can take 2) . Its thereofre fairly useless and annoying when it arrives.

This is my first Stihl cordless lawnmower as a replacement for a battered Bosch mower.
I love the single handle making it so much easier to remove and replace the grass box.
Height adjustment was really easy and the slide mulching flap is much easier than fixing extra attachments to the mower. The electric drive was most helpful on the uphill sections of the garden. All in all although more expensive than a replacement Bosch mower, the extra outlay was well worth it.
