    All I can say is
    Wow what a little beauty!!! Cuts through branches like a dream !!! The charge is great and having a second free battery with the kit was a really bargain. I’m glad I got extra oil because I think I’ll use it up pretty quickly. You do also need the resin spray that breaks resin down to protect the chain. I also bought an extra chain because of other reviews but I haven’t used it yet.
    Radmoretucker were excellent on the phone and nothing was too much trouble. 10 out of 10 for knowledge and commitment to giving great service.
    I’ve just cut some large branches off a laurel hedge and the pruner handled it no problem. Don’t hesitate even for a minute, it’s a fantastic little tool, especially for us ladies who don’t want a heavy chainsaw but need something more than a manual saw .

    Only had this a week but has already been useful. Wonderful machine for smaller twigs and branches. Cuts through quite big wood too of about 3” . Spare battery which was given as a special offer very welcome as battery is small and as such only lasts about 15 minutes when charged to 2 or 3 bars as recommended in the instruction booklet. Easy to use and compact. Delivered by DPD within 2 days of ordering, although DPD does not have many good reviews and they did say they would deliver on one particular day they cancelled, however, they did deliver the following day. The tracking number also stopped being accepted on DPD website after one day however, it was delivered next day for all the little problems. This was a problem with DPD not Radmore Tucker whose company I give the five stars to.

    The cordless one handed chainsaw GTA 26 is excellent. I should have bought one ages ago. It is very manoeuvrable, lightweight and just cuts through those branches with ease. At least 2 batteries are needed as it goes through them but not too quickly although they do take a little while to recharge.
    The open ended case it came in. Well, it is of no real use, fiddly, cumbersome and things fall out. A carry box or even a small holdall bag would have been more appropriate. This open ended case is just an unusable fancy looks good at the time, impression but not practical at all. The GTA 26 itself. Spot on. Already started clearing my garden and ordered a 3rd battery and the extension pole for those high branches.
    Small, compact, lightweight, easy to use and does the job. Cheaper Chinese versions? Why would you?

    TL;DR buy it!

    Firstly, the case – it’s 4 sided and rather like a rigid tool roll, so anything loose falls out and it’s a major faff to attempt to get the chainsaw and bits back inside. I can see it becoming landfill for most purchasers more often than not.

    Secondly, the chainsaw – first battery lasted long enough to prune a couple of well established apple trees that were well overdue attention. This was done using the extension pole. With the pole it’s difficult to see what the sharp end is up to, so I found I was using the battery for longer per cut than if I was close up with a better view and feel. Subsequent trees and shrubs were massacred with aplomb, without use of the pole.

    Having got all the wood on the ground, it was chipping time. Ordinarily preparing the branches to fit the chipper is a lot of work, but not this time… It was simple to just walk about and chop off branches as necessary, saving a huge amount of time. Any wooden waste in volume now meets the chainsaw as it’s so easy to just grab it from the house and get going.

    You definitely need 2+ batteries. There was a time where one was dead and the first was still charging, but lunch remedied that and the afternoon was playtime again. If there was cash to spare I’d probably go for a second charger and 3rd battery.

    Given the excellent performance of this tool, the hedge trimmer that accepts the same battery is a potential future purchase.

    All in all, my wife was very happy with her birthday present!

    Very quick delivery and the mini chainsaw is as impressive as others say, chomping through everything I’ve thrown at it very easily. I particularly like how handy it is – it’s sitting in its cardboard box and ready in an instant – my regular petrol chainsaw takes a while to sort out, as does the corded one, so the result is, at home at least, I’m using this as my default choice. The only criticism is the Stihl ‘case’ = it’s not a case, more a tool roll which really doesn’t work whatsoever – whoever signed this off at the design stage needs to go right back to the drawing board.

    This is a true game changer in the Garden.
    I was initially skeptical of a small battery operated chain saw, with a tiny battery … but my GOSH!! Was I wrong.
    This is truly amazing. Stihl have really cracked it with this. It cuts amazingly, branches as thick as my Calf … and you genuinely get 25mins of running battery time from it … with less than an hour of recharge time.
    Worth every Penny.

    Along with the Stihl ASA 20 Cordless Bypass Secateurs, which is an outstanding and sturdy tool that can readily cut through 3/4 inch (19 mm) branches, this GTA 26 mini chainsaw deals with all the branches up to about 3.5 inches (8 – 9 cm), the very size that is hard to cut with a full sized chain saw, because they tend to spin around in the saw horse. Previously I would have used a 21 inch bow saw to manually cut up this diameter of branch. The beauty of the GTA 26 is that it weighs only 1.44 kg (with the battery fitted), so it can be readily used single-handed, meaning that the other hand can be used to hold the branch. Of course Stihl say in the user manual that it should be used two-handed for safety, but I consider it to be perfectly safe as a one-handed saw so long as one is careful and wears the appropriate safety attire. I considered getting the larger GTA 40 instead, but decided that the extra 0.4 kg weight was not ideal for my particular purposes as described. I had concerns about the lack of automatic oiling of the chain on the GTA 26, but this has not proven to be an issue at all, as one only needs to oil the chain manually once per battery change. At 63, I suffer from finger arthritis, so these tools are a great enabler for me. Even without that I would say these are great productivity tools, enabling at least doubling the speed of work and making it much less strenuous. The saw is still made in Germany, which is nice, though the secateurs is made in China, but still excellent quality. As practically all Lithium batteries, these are made in China. I now have 4 ASA batteries, so that is plenty to get on with the pruning jobs without having to wait for recharge. As others have said, you need 2 for the GTA 26. Very little pressure is needed to be applied when sawing – let the excellent chain do the work. My only slight criticisms is the saw dust guard on top is in the way if one needs to make an undercut to relieve tension on a branch before cutting from the top, thus I have to use it upside down to achieve that. The other one is the case, which with its open sides does not stand up properly or seal the tool from dust when being stored in the workshop or shed. I think it is designed to lay flat and hang up by the two holes. R and T were efficient in the despatch and sell at a competitive price.

    Agree with all the comments. The mini chainsaw pruner is great; the free second battery offer a bonus; Radmore & Tucker delivered quickly at a good price. The carry case it comes with is useless – have put the kit in a small tool bag to keep it all together. We have a Stihl electric chainsaw, but this complements it really well for light gardening jobs. Also have the cordless secateurs and together its a great garden pruning set.

Dependable Stihl build quality, hand width so easily gets into the small gaps in hedges and bushes to enable the chain to scythe through branches with effortless precision, with a perfect clean cut. I had intended to buy the slightly larger GTA 30 with a more powerful battery but as it was out of stock I bought this GTA26 along with a spare battery after reading the positive reviews. I have no regrets whatsoever, Also got the long reach pole, which I look forward to trying out on my Bramley apple tree which is heading skywards.
