The RMA 239 C is perfect for cutting small to mid-sized lawns. It’s lightweight, manoeuvrable and powered by a 36 V Lithium-Ion battery. It’s fitted with features such as a height adjustable, mono-handlebar that can be easily folded and makes access to the 40 litre grass catcher box much easier. The central cut-height adjustment can be adjusted at 5 points between 30mm- 70mm and the stream-optimised blades ensure longer battery life. The RMA 239 C has a cutting width of 37 cm / 14″.
HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE COMFORT HANDLEBAR
The comfort handlebar is only mounted on one side of the lawn mower, making it easier for you to remove the grass collection box. As the handlebar is height-adjustable, it enables you to mow your lawn comfortably and ergonomically. You can adjust it to your preferred height without using tools. As the handlebar is also foldable, the lawn mower can be compactly stored and transported.
FOLDING GRASS COLLECTION BOX
The innovative grass catcher box is made of plastic and features a folding mechanism that makes it particularly easy to open and empty. The current of air produced during mowing blows the clippings into the grass catcher box and ensures its optimum filling. Special vanes in the box channel the air towards the ground, and so protect the user and lawn mower alike from dust and dirt that has been thrown up. The level indicator signals the correct time for emptying. The airflow generated by the blade raises the level indicator. When the basket is full, the airflow stops. If the airflow is too low, the level indicator returns to its idle state and this is an indication to empty the catcher box. Optimal airflow is required in order for the level indicator to function fully. External influences such as wet, dense or tall grass, a low cutting height, contamination, etc. may affect the airflow and the performance of the level indicator.
FOLDING BAR
The folding bar makes it quick and easy to fold up your power tool. Transport your lawn mower or lawn aerator effortlessly and store it compactly.
CENTRAL CUT-HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT FOR LAWN MOWERS
You can adjust the cutting height on your lawn mower easily and in several levels. A scale shows the current height. Central cut-height adjustment allows you to optimally adapt your mowing to the conditions of the lawn.
CARRYING HANDLES
The STIHL battery-powered lawn mower has two carrying handles integrated into the housing for ease of transport. They make the cordless mower easier to load or return to the upright position. The carrying handles are also suitable as lashing points, for example for securing the lawn mower with a strap during transport.

As it is winter I cannot comment on how well it operates, but the machine is clearly well made and robust; whilst I had no gripes about my previous Bosch model this is clearly a much sturdier and better made machine. I have used R&T previously as my local dealer. I find it always best to go local where possible and the service and price were both good. The lawnmower took a while to arrive as it was on backorder, but this was not a problem. It was delivered promptly by a member of staff when back in stock as I was fairly local. It was assembled and tested ready to go.
I found the height of cut adjustment a bit fiddly, but will soon get used to it.
With an AK20 battery and on a medium high cut for the first cut of the season I did about 260m of grass over 5 areas, so no long straight runs. It cut well, filling the 40L collection box 5 times over about 50 minutes. This is a comparable time to my previous corded mower. I then went on to cut the grass verges and steeply angled banks under my beech hedging, so about another 40m.
The mower is fairly light so I was able to run it across these steep areas fairly easily and although lightweight it feels well put together and a step up from previous corded electric mowers.
When I returned the battery to charge it was showing 1 bar of still available, so could have gone on for a while longer.
Early signs are good, and although expensive I think it is a case of you do get what you pay for.
