Belt Drive Air Compressors

Knowing what Air Compressor to buy can be a daunting task. So much goes on with these machines in order to provide the fast and efficient performance that you require. These amazing machines turn electrical energy into a powerful kinetic energy capable of powering other smaller power tools such as drills, sanders, wrenches etc. They can be used in several settings such as factories, garages and in some cases, in the home. The range of Hyundai Belt Driven Air Compressors that we offer at Radmore & Tucker fall into the “professional use” Category. These machines are incredibly well built and designed to the highest standards.  Ranging from 50 – 270 Litre capacity, this range of compressors can provide more than enough energy to power even the most demanding air tools.

Belt driven air compressors generally run smoother than their direct drive alternatives. On a direct drive the electric motor connects to the compressor crankshaft, meaning that the compressor spins at the motors speed.  On a belt driven model, there is a V-belt running from a small pulley on the motor to a large pulley wheel on the pump, making the pump spin slower than the motor. Belt driven compressors are also easier to maintain. On direct drive compressor the motor and pump is joined whereas on a belt driven compressor they are separated and joined together by the belt, making any maintenance a great deal easier. It also means that in the unfortunate event of a break down and you need to replace a part, you can replace the single damaged part instead of the whole motor and pump. Along with the maintenance benefits, belt driven air compressors are usually the more powerful of the two and tend to have larger air tanks for better storage.
