The new generation Stihl FS 50 C-E Petrol Strimmer is a lightweight brush cutter with an ergonomic design which makes it the ideal brush cutter to be used on grassy areas around the garden or plot.

The highlights of this machine are its modern looks, easy operation and simple starting method. The simplified starting ensures that the problem of a flooded engine belongs to the past. The Stihl ErgoStart enables easy starting without having to jerk the starter. The 2-stroke engine of the machine is a new design and comes with a stratified charge that affords fast acceleration, reduction of emissions and lower fuel consumption. The combination of a bent shaft, looped handle and AutoCut mowing head makes trimming grass in small areas and around objects easy and comfortable, the ideal strimmer to use for edging.

The comfortable loop handle can be adjusted without the need of any tools when there is a need to adjust it, for the comfort of the operator.
Overall it is a well-designed machine with various quality Stihl accessories available to make operation a pleasure.

The reduced–emission technology in the engine.

The 2-stroke engine comes with a stratified charge which creates a layer of air without fuel between the burned fuel and the fuel in the crankcase which reduce the fuel loss. This provides more power, 20% + lower fuel consumption when compared to regular 2-stroke engines and vastly reduced exhaust fumes.

Manual fuel pump – It comes equipped with a small fuel pump which at the touch of a button delivers fuel to the carburettor which reduces the number of strokes needed to start the machine.

Stihl ErgoStart  – This enables the machine to be started with the least amount of effort and reduces the jerks to get the machine started. No more jerking and pulling at full force. The machine is also available without the Stihl ErgoStart system.

Simplified starting – Starting a machine has never been so easy and can be done in three easy steps. Set the choke, press the button to pump the fuel and lightly pull the starter cord and you are ready for action. Switch it off by pressing the stop button, the ignition will ready itself after stopping.

Multi-Function control handle  – There is no need to let go of the handle with the controls that can be comfortably operated with the operator’s thumb.

This is the second stih FS 50 C-E strimmer I have had I bought my last one in 2014 and used it a lot for five and a half years both in my own garden and for working on other gardens in my work. I am quite short in stature and it is easy for me to use.
The ergostart makes it very easy to start and light enough to use for periods of half an hour .

This is my very first petrol strimmer purchase, after careful online reviews I chose the Stihl FS50C strimmer and have not been disappointed.
It’s very light and easy to start. It didn’t take too long to go around my medium sized garden to strim the edges.
    Would highly recommend.

Very pleased with the new strimmer. It replaces my 22 yr old Stihl FS36 that I bought from Radmore and Tucker.
Delivered personally by John the following day. Great service.

    Stihl FS 55 Petrol Brushcutter/Strimmer –
Excellent strimmer works well and is very strong for such a light piece of equipment. Delivery was a little slow, but that wasn’t down to the Manufacturer; the courier company let us both down. I would definitely recommend Radmore and Tucker.

This was delivered to me in August, but it was a gift for my daughter who has only just started using it. She is highly delighted with what it can do. Although it is relatively light in weight, it will deal with fairly substantial foliage, though, of course, not hard stems 5mm+ thick. One of the main advantages is that it starts easily which is a big plus for anyone not used to two-stroke engines.
However, when my daughter brought it back to me for assembly I discovered that the metal clamp which holds the shield on the stem was not circular and in no way would the shield fit onto it. One would assume that this arose from damage in transit. Fortunately I have a little skill in this area and was able to restore the shape enough for the shield to fit. This problem would have proved difficult for many people.
This is why there are only four stars. However, I can say that I am thinking of buying one for myself to replace both my ancient, heavy Stihl, which does not start easily and my very heavy lawnmower as well.
