TS 500i. Powerful and controllable, it features innovative technology to provide the ultimate in efficiency and precision when cutting through bricks, metal, concrete and tiling for all types of construction and paving work. The integral loop handle has been ergonomically designed and incorporates Stihl’s anti-vibration system to ensure maximum comfort particularly when operating at awkward angles and in any position for lengthy spells. Safety is ensured by the ElastoStart system which diverts the shock generated by the ignition to the handle. The Cut-off Saw can be hand operated or used with a FW20 Cart for greater flexibility within the workplace.
Weighing 10.2kg, the 300mm/14″ cut-off saw has superb, reliable power capabilities due to Stihl’s unique electronically controlled fuel injection system. Petrol consumption is rated at 20% lower than in similar models of this category due to the two stroke engine creating an air layer between the burned and fresh charges in the combustion chamber and the crankcase. A steady flow of fuel can be supplied to the carburettor by a single button operating mechanism, reducing the number of restarting strokes needed following breaks. Exhaust emmissions are effectively reduced and when combined with the lower fuel consumption, the Stihl TS500i works hard to reduce the carbon footprint.
Cutting through concrete and brick creates a large volume of particles but Stihl have incorporated a dust suppression feature to help reduce the amount emitted. The Pre-Separation mechanism effectively sifts the debris as air is drawn in and quickly releases the heavier or larger particles. At the same time, the cleaned air is redirected through the Pre-Separation duct back to the air filter. Reducing the volume of the dust by significantly high amounts and preventing the engine from becoming blocked, will prolong the life span of the Cut-off Saw when compared to other models. In addition, the dust suppression water supply is easily activated through a single button and continues switching on and off automatically in relation to the speed of the engine. The volume of water is controlled by the use of plus and minus buttons.
Stihl have also included a semi-automatic drive belt re-tensioning feature to relieve the pressure on the belt and shaft bearings. This powerful 3.9KW machine also features the Datatag MicroCesar anti-theft device. A 300mm/14″ abrasive cutting wheel is supplied as standard. (this is not a diamond disc)
