The Stihl HTA 50 is a lightweight cordless pole pruner with high cutting performance for tree maintenance work in medium-sized to large gardens. Part of the AK System and fitted with 1⁄4″ P – PM3 saw chain and Rollomatic E Mini guide bar.
The HTA 50 has side-mounted chain tensioning and a branch hook for easy removal of cuttings from the tree canopy (for use on small branches only). Includes a semi-transparent oil tank for quick and easy checks of the oil during use. With an ergonomic control unit and detachable shaft for easy transport and space-saving storage. Cannot be used with Kombi attachments, HLA 56 hedge cutting head, RTS harness or HLA 56 shaft extension.
Working time with recommended AK 20 battery is up to 45 minutes / 170 cuts (when sawing 10×10 timber).

Clear window on the oil tank
Thanks to the clear window on the oil tank, you can always keep an eye on the oil level.

The shaft of the HTA 50 can be split thanks to the clamp coupling. This means you can transport and store the pole pruner with ease.
Ergonomic control unit
The ergonomic handle combined with a self-resetting locking lever is easy to use and enables an intuitive starting process. Suitable for both right- and left-handers.

I chose this model because it uses the same batteries that I use in another machine plus it’s light enough for prolonged work. Some more powerful pole saws just get too heavy after a while. I find it has just enough power and bar size for the tree trimming jobs I need it for whilst being very easy to use. Battery life is also decent. Price and the delivery service from Radmore was excellent as always.

Perfect tool for higher reach branches. Didn’t expect anything less from Stihl, like most of us, who have started crossing over to battery eco systems. ‘Buy once, Buy right’ I have a Stihl chainsaw so it made sense to buy this for the intended job, use time of 10 minutes had no impact on the charge, and the tool made such light work of the job; I wonder why I never purchased one before. I already have batteries and charger for a hedge trimmer so bought the pole saw as well. It’s excellent! Very light, easy to use, a good length and cuts branches effortlessly. It works much better than my petrol combi tool (that isn’t a Stihl). A great price and very quick delivery with courier helpfully giving a 2hr time slot.
